“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.”
– Ernest Hemingway
Hello everyone, update Jan 2017
Registration will always be posted here. Events:
The last ride for 2016 is complete, read about it in the latest news. We had over 60 total riders for 2016, with 4 events for 2017 let’s see if we can increase those numbers!
The Jan 14, 2017 event is done and we broke a record for number of riders. 42 riders showed up! Next event is Jan 28th in Edinburg, registration is online.
Dates for a total of 4 2017 events, including ACP have been approved. See event schedule page for more details.
Three of the dates in 2017 will be for ACP Brevets…so what does that mean? If you complete one of the ACP events (200K or more) and are a current RUSA member you can order a special medal from ACP. See the RUSA website for more info. Another reason to host ACP events is to attract other RANDO riders from other parts of the state to attend our events as ACP events are credited to some of the bigger awards versus the standard RUSA events.
I’m still looking for someone to help me out, this is a volunteer “position” and I need some help in planning and logistics. Please drop me an email at email@example.com if you want to help. Thanks!
